"I was facing eviction, had lost my job, and couldn’t afford rent or bills.
My daughter didn’t have enough clothes or food, and I felt hopeless. I didn’t know where to turn. I felt alone and stuck.
I went to many organizations, but they all turned me away—until I found Vine Maple Place.
The staff were kind, caring, and compassionate. They immediately offered help and made me feel at home. They gave my kids clothes and shoes, and my daughter received mentoring that built her confidence. I also got counseling to help with my depression and anxiety, and learned how to set boundaries and speak up for myself.
With the help of VMP, I found a job, stopped the eviction, and received rent assistance to stay in my home. My mental health improved, and my kids are now happy and confident.
